Hi,
I am looking for fellowship with other schizoprhenics who have run marathons... or are about to run a half or full marathon... I have been running for 21 months continuously and on and off for 4 years since giving up smoking - and since a 9 month long stay in hospital where i was purging my meds and therefore not getting well - through wanting to lose weight alone...
I was very ill before this as well for 9 months 18 months before after coming off meds and the only time i was knowingly non compliant.
I have now been smoke free for 4 yrs on 16.06.06 i quit!! I have tried many times so i feel it was really worth it in the end - I love being a non smoker...
I am about to be happily married 4 weeks today - and i'm running my second half marathon in Tromso Norway in the midnight sun half marathon (they also do a full)
Recently my pace and gait have really improved very suddenly i think and it all seems to be coming together - a half marathon will never be easy - but the training runs will get more so.
My mum is invaluable in getting me out of the door to run - she takes me and waits in the car on a shorter run or does food shopping and on a longer run she will go away and come back...
I have lost some of the weight i have gained over the years but not yet enough to be anything but fat, fantastic and fit!!!
i hope i always run - i want the effects of slowing down the aging process (i'm 35) and i had a great time doing yoga for 5 years before - i got to teacher training level and then backed down with a Marathon i wouldn't have to teach anyone or help anyone...
I have paranoid schizophrenia - my sisters - one of them was also psz she was killed by being hit by a car and my youngest sister is a successful photographer with a great future...
I have never been this positive about the future - i don't plan on kids but i plan on travelling a lot and making maybe the Lucerne (Switzerland) Marathon 2011
